Los Angeles Rehab Centers Google Reviews Rating Luxe Recovery Oro House: 10 Brands Reviewed for Care Options and Setting
Ten programs are reviewed here for the two things star ratings rarely capture, the care each one provides and the setting it provides it in, led by Bright Paths Recovery, the pick for anyone who cannot leave a pet behind. Ten Programs, Reviewed
1) Bright Paths Recovery
The pet question can stall an admission. For a person who lives alone with an animal, the choice can feel like rehab or the pet, and some people simply wait. Bright Paths Recovery ends that dilemma: its residential stay is pet friendly, stated plainly on its own site, so the animal comes along to the Northridge house.
The setting is a 12-bed home with a private chef, a gym with boxing and a basketball court, and the care inside it is substantial. Medical detox runs at all hours under the same roof, residential treatment follows for 28 to 40 days, and dual diagnosis work covers conditions such as anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder. Staffing runs at about three staff per two residents, by the company's count.
Partners can come too, phones and laptops stay with residents, and admission is often same day. The limits are equally clear: no outpatient level and no Medicaid or Medicare.
The clinical leadership is named, with Dr. Adnan Khoury, MD, MS, as medical director and Dr. Shushan Tigranyan, PsyD, as clinical director, and the house holds Joint Commission accreditation and state DHCS certification. After discharge, graduates keep a private alumni app, a weekly alumni call and check-ins, with referrals to sober living and outpatient partners.
2) CRI-Help
CRI-Help's setting is practical rather than plush: a nonprofit center in North Hollywood that has served Los Angeles since 1971, according to directories, with a second residential house in the city.
Care runs from detox with medication management through residential days of 12-step meetings, yoga and case management, to day treatment and outpatient groups. Medi-Cal, payment plans and a sliding fee keep it within reach of Valley households without private insurance.
The trade is comfort for access. Few amenities are listed, but staff work in Spanish and English, programs serve expectant mothers and women with children, and LA County 211 lists the program as open around the clock. Choose Help reports CARF accreditation, and sober living is available to alumni.
3) Hoag
Hoag's setting is the most clinical here: detox inside an acute-care hospital system in Orange County, with physicians and nurses on duty around the clock.
Residential care follows at SolMar Recovery, a 21-bed program on the Newport Beach campus, with tracks for chronic pain, younger adults and working professionals. A weeklong family program, an on-site 12-step program and free daily assessments round it out. For a client with complex medical needs, the setting is the point.
It is not a home, and it does not pretend to be one. Dual diagnosis care covers depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and OCD, graduates join the Hoag's Heroes alumni group, and an online estimator gives families an early sense of cost. Hoag reports more than 25 years in operation.
4) Breathe Life
Breathe Life Healing Centers pairs a Laurel Canyon campus with a clinical focus on trauma, from complex trauma and PTSD to chemsex, with dedicated tracks for LGBTQ+ clients and flight attendants.
Its care options run the full length, from detox through residential, PHP, IOP and outpatient programs to transitional living, and medication-assisted treatment is available. Ask where detox actually takes place, since the site lists it without a location.
The program was founded by interventionist Brad Lamm and is led by CEO Beck Gee, AMFT, with Stacy Cohen, MD, as medical director. Families can attend a class or a three-day workshop, alumni meet weekly online, and a Joint Commission Gold Seal sits alongside LegitScript certification.
5) Beit T'Shuvah
Beit T'Shuvah's setting is a communal campus on Venice Boulevard where residents live for months, combining Jewish spirituality, the 12 steps and clinical therapy.
The care is structured and demanding, built around time and routine: four to five groups a day, Torah study, Shabbat, and work in the organization's social enterprises. Detox must be completed elsewhere first, and phones are held for at least 60 days. Drug Medi-Cal partnership and scholarships help with cost.
For the right resident, the setting itself is part of the treatment: a community that eats, works and studies together. It is less suited to anyone who needs medical detox on arrival or acute psychiatric care, and applicants must understand English.
6) Luxe Recovery
Luxe Recovery offers two homes of six clients each, according to StartYourRecovery, in Los Feliz and the Hollywood Hills near Studio City. Pets may be welcome there too, under certain policies.
Nurses supervise withdrawal on site at any hour, and residential care typically runs 30 to 90 days, according to Recovery.com. Directories describe a pool, hot tub and music room, and therapies including EMDR and neurofeedback. Private PPO plans and self-pay only, and accreditation details come from a third-party listing.
For pet owners, Luxe is the other name worth calling, though its policy is described as conditional rather than open. Arthur Melkonyan is listed as owner and CEO, and NAATP notes programming for first responders and for pregnant or postpartum women.
7) CLARE│MATRIX
CLARE│MATRIX's Santa Monica campus is built for access rather than comfort, with Medicare and Medicaid listed among accepted coverage by Cope Compass.
Care includes withdrawal management at all hours, residential units separated by gender for 30 to 90 days and Matrix Model outpatient groups, with on-site MAT and an Opioid Treatment Program.
Outpatient offices extend to Mid-City Los Angeles and Ontario, and some sessions run by video. Directory listings mention groups for seniors, veterans and LGBTQ+ clients, and CARF is listed as the accreditor. Amenities are not described, which fits the organization's public-coverage focus.
8) Wish Recovery
Wish Recovery's setting is a private estate in Northridge with private suites, a movie theatre and an acupuncture room, according to directory listings.
Its care options cover detox, residential treatment, PHP and IOP on that one property, per its press release, and an executive track serves senior professionals such as attorneys, physicians and founders. Detox.com reports Joint Commission accreditation.
The estate model appeals to clients who want comfort and continuity at once, moving from round-the-clock care to part-time treatment without a new address. Equine and outdoor therapy appear in third-party profiles, and the company says a family that lived through addiction founded it. No state license number appears in public listings.
9) Hazelden Betty Ford
The Betty Ford Center offers a destination campus in Rancho Mirage, about two hours from LA, with detox, inpatient, outpatient and virtual care and a sober living home on site.
Family programs are extensive, including a children's program. For pet owners, note that only ADA service dogs are allowed.
The campus also offers an opioid use disorder program and co-occurring mental health care, and family sessions run in Spanish and for Native American families. Phones stay in residents' rooms, visiting happens on Sunday afternoons, and a financial aid policy is published.
10) Clearview
Clearview's setting is a set of residential homes near its Venice treatment buildings, in a quiet suburb, and its care is built for adults whose addiction comes with serious mental illness, using DBT as the core method.
PHP and IOP follow, and veterans can attend through VA Community Care. Detox is not described on its addiction page, and Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Shield of California are not accepted.
Its in-network list includes Kaiser, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Health Net/MHN, and the program holds a Joint Commission Gold Seal. Meals can be kosher, vegan or gluten-free, and separate women's and gender-inclusive programs are available.
What to Weigh Beyond the Setting
Pet and family policies. Few programs publish them. If a pet, partner or child would otherwise delay treatment, ask first. In this review, Bright Paths states a pet-friendly stay and couples rehab, Luxe allows pets under certain policies, Hazelden limits animals to service dogs, and CRI-Help lists programs for mothers with children.
Detox location. Same-site detox, as at Bright Paths and Luxe, avoids a transfer during withdrawal. Beit T'Shuvah requires detox beforehand, and Clearview does not describe it, so plan that step separately for those programs.
Setting that fits the person. A small home, a communal campus and a hospital suit different people. Someone who finds groups draining may prefer a house of six or twelve; someone who wants accountability may thrive in a community of many.
Care after the stay. Check for outpatient levels, sober living and alumni support. Bright Paths offers an alumni app and weekly check-ins, Wish and Clearview keep outpatient care in-house, and Breathe Life adds transitional living.
Coverage. Settle this first. Private plans open the small homes; Medi-Cal, Medicare and Medicaid point to CRI-Help, CLARE│MATRIX and Beit T'Shuvah.
